The project Raia Termal<\/strong> began in March 2015, with the signing of a protocol at the Lobios Spa in which, in addition to the protagonists of the La Regi\u00f3n Forum, the Government delegate in Galicia, Santiago Villanueva, was present. Little by little, with the work done between the presidents of the municipal chamber and the technicians of CHMS and the provincial government, the initiative was liked and the participation in the European funds of the programme was successfully achieved\u00a0Interreg<\/strong>, which was his definitive impulse to achieve “a tourist destination in two countries”<\/strong>, as reflected in the project’s slogan.<\/p>\n

N<\/span><\/strong><\/em>ature, thermalism and tourism, <\/span><\/strong><\/em>the axes of proyect<\/span>, <\/span><\/strong><\/em>next to<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/em>Ourense and the north of Portugal are launching a cross-border cooperation initiative to promote synergies between the two territories, starting with<\/span> starting a “real example of collaboration”, 2.7 million, of which 75% is co-financed by the Feder.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A new edition of the Forum La Regi\u00f3n, in the Marcos Valc\u00e1rcel cultural centre, has been inaugurated by the presidents of the provincial government and the Mi\u00f1o-Sil Hydrographic Confederation, Manuel Baltar and Francisco Mar\u00edn, presented by the director of Marketing of La Regi\u00f3n, Manuel Ledesma. This forum has served to explain the details of the initiative, promoted by the Mi\u00f1o-Sil Hydrographic Confederation, which found in the provincial government the perfect ally to defend the interests of the four municipalities in the province participating in the project (Bande, Cortegada, Lobios and Mu\u00ed\u00f1os), which are joined by two Portuguese municipalities, Melga\u00e7o and Tierras del Bouro, linked by the rivers Mi\u00f1o and Limia<\/p>\n

“Portugal and Ourense have a lot in common”<\/em>, said the leader of the provincial government, referring to the recently inaugurated exhibition on the swabians that the first European state in Gallaecia or the 219 kilometers of border between the two territories agrees. Baltar agreed on the thermal potential of Ourense, with its provincial plan or the participation in international organizations such as Partenalia or the European Association of Historic Thermal Cities.<\/p>\n

Baltar, guaranteed that his government “will always be<\/em>” in initiatives such as these “because we must fight together for a prosperous future”.<\/em>That’s why, “was mandatory”<\/em> participate in a project of this nature:<\/div>\n

“It was supported from the beginning because it aims to recover natural spaces, improve the quality of the waters, build new infrastructures and continue with the strengthening of the thermalism of this territory. Francisco Mar\u00edn, in turn, justified the participation of the organization he presides over in the project Raia Termal<\/strong> for the benefits it will bring to the Lower Limia region and northern Portugal:<\/div>\n

“What does thermalism or tourism have to do with hydrographic tourism? They are not our objectives, but our headquarters is in Ourense and we must bet on dynamic projects, the thermal areas in river environments need an optimal quality of water and that will cause an environmental improvement”.<\/em><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n
Mar\u00edn thanked the local administrations for their quick response to cooperate and spoke of “a vertebrate candidacy and<\/em> conjoined” to implement the initiatives for each of the municipalities, ensuring that “success is guaranteed” and that, once the project is developed, “I will take the first step to articulate the territory and take advantage of all the opportunities of the hot springs”.<\/em><\/div>\n
