12 Mar Work progresses in Muíños on the Barxés sewage treatment plant
The intervention was awarded for 125,000 euros
The construction works of the new Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) of Barxés, in Muíños, are progressing at a good pace. After several delays and administrative problems, the mayor Plácido Álvarez confirmed the good progress of the works and their imminent conclusion. “It is very advanced, but now the weather is intervening because it is a humid area and the rain conditions the action on the land”, said the councilman of the Popular Party.
The intervention, included in the European project “Raia Termal” that in the province lead the Diputación de Ourense with the Confederación Hidrográfica del Miño-Sil, was awarded for an amount of 125,000 euros with the aim of completing the sanitation in the parish of Barxés. “With this, we will have two important sewage treatment plants in the area surrounding the capital. We preach with example, if we want the water (of As Conchas) to be suitable for bathing, each one of us must improve what we have at home”, concluded Álvarez.
