The Municipality of Terras de Bouro and the company J José Firmino da Silva Ferreira, Ldª, formalized the signature of the contract for the execution of the project of recovery and improvement of the bank of the river Gerês in Vila do Gerês and the rehabilitation of the park “Banco do Ramalho”.

The execution of these works, which will be centered in an area located in the parish of Vilar da Veiga, includes the requalification of the surrounding area and the deviation of the current sewage network from the thermal spring, in addition to the requalification of the Assureira Park with actions of cleaning, placement of fences, new pavements, walls, new paths, stabilization of slopes, among others.

It is also worth mentioning the treatment and restoration of the Banco do Ramalho monument, which will be equipped with urban furniture, drinking troughs, improvements in landscaping and forestation with the creation of a demonstration area for aromatic and medicinal plants; in addition, a footbridge will be built over a water line and the road signs in this same area will be renewed.

These actions are included in the RAIA TERMAL project and will involve an investment of 358,994.82 euros. The work will be carried out within a maximum period of four months.
