The project Raia Termal concludes several performances in the municipalities of Cortegada, Lobios and Muiños

The Hydrographic Confederation of Miño-Sil (CHMS) has finished four works of the cross-border project Raia Termal; these actions have been executed in the municipalities of Lobios, Muíños and Cortegada during the year 2019.

In Lobios, the fluvial space of the river Caldo has been recovered by means of the improvement and putting into operation of a pumping well, as a solution to the problem of spillages from Os Baños de Riocaldo. In Muíños, the construction of two accesses has been completed, one to the Salas power plant by means of a path, and the other to the river beach at O Corgo. Finally, in Cortegada, improvements have been made to the signposting on the “Terras de Cortegada” thermal route.

These works are framed within the Activity 2 “Environmental recovery and valuation of natural environments of thermal spaces”, Action 1 “Recovery of fluvial spaces affected by residual waters in thermal environments” and Action 2 “Conditioning of trekking routes and river banks in thermal environments” of the Raia Termal project.

All the actions are co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Interreg V-A Spain-Portugal Programme (POCTEP) 2014-2020.
